We’re almost there, folks.
Two months from this date, Jasper and the Riddle of Riley’s Mine releases into the world. I can’t wait for you to hold a copy in your hands.
Today I’m sharing how you can support Jasper and benefit in the process through two different pre-order campaigns (open to US residents only).
It’s no secret in the publishing world that pre-orders are key to a book’s success. Early orders signal early interest and can influence the Big People Who Make Decisions to add books to a print run, order more copies for a physical or online store, or give a book more visibility.
So here we go.
Order two copies, receive two journals and two personalized bookplates
Perfect for gifts (keep one for yourself, give one to a friend, a teacher, a librarian, or young reader)
These gorgeous 40-page (front and back) 5.5″ x 8.5″ journals were designed by Melinda Beavers and include Jasper’s broken glasses, his pa’s pocket watch, and this Jasper-y quote:
Now ain’t the time to start believing I gotta have things figured out before I jump on in.
Use the journal as a reader’s notebook, a commonplace book, or for your own story ideas. Or let it serve as a placeholder — a gift for now that points toward a gift coming later. Simply order two copies of the book and send a copy of your receipt to carolinestarr@yahoo.com along with your mailing address. All orders must be placed by February 6, 2017.
If you plan on using the journal as part as your holiday giving, please email your receipt by Thursday, December 15. I will make a final pre-Christmas mailing on 12/16. Any orders placed after this date will be mailed after the holiday.
Order ten or more copies, receive an annotated copy of Jasper, a journal, a free 45-minute Skype session, and autographed stickers for your readers
Perfect for schools, libraries, homeschool co-ops, or book clubs
For those of you who would like to share Jasper more broadly, consider this option. Order ten copies of the book and send a copy of your receipt to carolinestarr@yahoo.com along with your mailing address. All orders must be placed by February 6, 2017.
You’ll receive an annotated copy of the book, full of inside information about the history, the writing process, and random fun facts behind the story. Keep the journal for yourself to take notes as you’re reading or give it away to one of your students. I will arrange a 45-minute Skype visit with your group or class ($150 value) that will include a twenty-minute presentation about the book and a twenty-five minute Q and A session. Be sure to include the number of readers in your email, so everyone can get an autographed sticker! I ask that Skype sessions be scheduled before the end of June 2017.
Questions? Feel free to leave them below! And thank you, as always, for your enthusiasm and support.
