After Mardi Gras

The parades are over,
but if you look closely,
you’ll find beads all over town
dangling from the strangest places.

Do you should have one of the streets for hardygirl?

Btw, the local prisoners clean it all up.

LOL! I rode my scooter to work this morning and it was still such a mess in the CBD and FQ. I was worried I’d skid, there were so many beads still on the ground. The ones that were crushed in the road glittered like filthy little jewels.

    Glad you enjoyed carnival!

I think its because every one of those objects were shaking their proverbial money maker.

That is awesome. Do the beads stay there all year round or does someone eventually clean them up?

Natalie, a lot of them stay up. It’s pretty entertaining to glance up at a street light in September and still see them there.

I have to confess, I took these pictures a week ago after the parades. If I had gone out this morning, I’m sure there would have been more…

I really want to go to Mardi Gras! My husband’s Uncle lived in N.O. for years and we never made it. Now they live in Dallas…bummer…I’d love to be that bead toting 20 something chick, but I’m not and never will be….I hope that you have had a Mardi Gras momment. πŸ™‚
