Albuquerque International Balloon Fiesta 2011

This year marks the fortieth anniversary of Balloon Fiesta
and the first time I’ve been to a Balloon Glow since high school.
 Hundreds of balloons inflate
and blast their burners all at once
for a spectacular light show.

You know when I saw this on the news this weekend, I thought about you and wondered if you were there! 🙂

I went up on my first balloon ride this year and it was SO AMAZING! We have a balloon festival here, but it’s no where as big.

The town where I grew up has a Whale Festival every October!

    Karen, we were indeed!

Jade, I have to know more about that whale festival.

How neat! My son would LOVE that Spiderman balloon I spotted in the background there. We love our little balloon festival here, but yours looks VERY cool. Someday when we’re rich, we’ll have to come down for it. 🙂

I went to this about 15 years ago. It’s such a cool event! Freezing in those early morning hours, but so much more exciting than you would think.

I saw this on the news, too. It looks so cool! I can’t even imagine how spectacular it is in person.
