Wow, your nightstand is almost as messy as mine! =) I’m actually re-reading the HP series like Lovely Little Rants, just finished THE NEAR WITCH, and next I’ll read HADES, YESTERDAY’S TOMORROW. And SLAYERS is in the mail. Phew. I normally don’t have that many books on my TBR pile, but I feel very lucky that I have so many options right now.
I just finished Daughter of Smoke & Bone and The Girl of Fire and Thorns. I loved them so much they’re still on the nightstand, along with The Princess Bride, which I’m about to finish, too. It’s been some mighty fine reading.
Ah, I can’t fall asleep if I read in bed. But I have a huge stack on a table downstairs and I read in the living room (away from the TV-watching husband in the den)!
Is that Over Sea, Under Stone I see at the bottom of your nightstand? Love that book! Love the whole sequence by Susan Cooper. Favorite fantasy series ever.
I just finished Cracked by K.M. Walton which is super amazing, and I’m currently reading Under the Never Sky by Veronica Rossi, which is romantic and addictive. See, most of my TBR stack is ARCS.
Oh, and you know I recently read an inspiring book called MAY B. by a certain Caroline Starr Rose… π In fact, I’m reviewing it for Random House’s blog. I’ll let you know when it’s scheduled.
Lots of books on my nightstand. It looks a lot like yours- crowded. CHIME, PRIDE PREJUDICE AND ZOMZIES, 9 DRAGONS, ENCLAVE, DELIRIUM, ANATHEMA, DAUGHTER OF SMOKE AND BONE… and on and on.
For me it’s more like my reading pile – I have way too many to put on my nightstand! I’m reading The Marriage Plot by Jeffrey Eugenides and I really like it so far.
Off the top of my head, LUCKY FOR GOOD, CHIME, SHINE, and a book with Owl in the title (can’t remember it exactly!) are on there, but that’s not all. Oh yes, also Cheryl Klein’s SECOND SIGHT, but that’s still not all.
I recognize some of those covers π I’m re-reading The Lightning Thief. LOVE that book. Plus I have the ARCs for A Million Suns (Beth Revis) and Liar’s Moon (Elizabeth Bunce).
Sherrie, you’ve got connections, girl. I have to confess I have only read a portion of The Lightning Thief. It was overdue at the library, and my younger guy wanted to try something else together.
Unfortunately, I need to return most of the books on my bedside table to the library only partially read. It’s one those I-can’t-get-into-anything months. π
Checked out your earlier bookcase post, Caroline, and I may still have you beat. We have something like 12 big book cases all over the house spilling out, double shelved, on the floor. It’s ridiculous! And many, many boxes in the garage! (I live with a bunch of pack-rats, but books are hard to get rid of. The 29 in the pile I took a pic of (which I still need to post, but there was this other, more pressing news I just *had* to shout about (lol!) are just the books I need to read, a mix of library and purchased books . . . )
My piles are too embarrassing to photograph. They have taken on a life of their own! I expect them to dress up and go trick or treating next week. Maybe they will find new homes. I’d better un-stack them asap!!
Love hearing what everyone else is reading. I adore Hound Dog True, which I just finished. Am halfway through Fingertips of Duncan Dorfman (scrabble!) and also enjoyed PIE by Sarah Weeks. It’s sad when my friends ask me for book recommendations. I seem to love only middle grade fiction…
I’m reading the Help right now! But I really want to reread all the Harry Potter books! yay!
xoxo
Lovely Little Rants
I’m reading Wildefire. Just finished Witch Eyes.
Hi Candace, thanks for stopping by! I adored The Help but have to confess I’ve only read the first Harry Potter. Please don’t throw stones.
Natalie, way to support the Elevensies!

I just like the FEELING of books on my nightstand, even if I know I won’t read them for awhile. It helps me sleep better. π
Kathryn, at least I’ve moved beyond a second pile under my bed!
Jessie, agreed. I feel very secure knowing what books are ahead (and which ones I haven’t bothered returning to their proper shelves).
I’ve still got to finish The Death Cure. I promised my husband he could read it first, but now I’m dying to get back into it!
Tere, I’m not familiar with this book. Please tell me more!
I just finished Daughter of Smoke & Bone and The Girl of Fire and Thorns. I loved them so much they’re still on the nightstand, along with The Princess Bride, which I’m about to finish, too. It’s been some mighty fine reading.
Tricia, Smoke and Bone goes nicely with Fire and Thorns. I adore The Princess Bride.

MOON OVER MANIFEST is up next!
Liesl, I read that over the summer. You’ll have to tell me if you find Abilene like Scout.

Amy
I’m stealing your blog idea! Just took a picture of my stack *under* the bed and posting on my blog! 29 titles to read . . . π
Amy, I know that feeling. Here’s to some winners for your next batch of books.
Kim, check this out: http://carolinebyline.blogspot.com/2010/01/we-have-serious-problem-around-here.html

You had me at 12 bookcases. I must come see!
As to that wonderful news, come back next Wednesday to see my link! xo
