Here are just a few ways to learn about new authors, read up on their titles, and enter for a chance to win copies of their books.
The Elevensies is hosting a year-long program called Lunch and Launch, where authors, on release day, post about a food or drink that shows up in their book and giveaway both a copy of their book and the special snack. With 85+ authors, there will be many opportunities for readers to win. Stop by and read through the spring releases to get a sense of what will be offered and plan on visiting often for your chance to win.
The Class of 2k11 has created a campaign called Pick 3. Choose from Hands On, Mash up Mania, and Cover Re-Creation and enter to win prizes. Read below to learn more:
HANDS ON
The Challenge: Get your hands on a copy of one or more of the featured books for the month. Literally! For a chance to win a prize, just take a picture that shows your hands on the featured title and send it to us at: streetteam@classof2k11.com or post to our Class of 2k11 Facebook page or tweet them at:@class_of_2k11
Get creative with your hands in your Hands On photos! Paint nails, write messages, draw art, glitter, glue, doodle, shade, jewel up, shape, henna, temporary tattoo, pile on a bunch o’ hands…or come up with an idea of your own. But remember – hands only in the picture!
January’s featured title for Hands On:
XVI by Julia Karr

MASHUP MANIA
The Challenge: We supply a list of featured titles each month. Then, you get crazy — mix and mash until you create a 2k11 title mashup and then write a description about the book! Never mashed titles before? Here’s a non-2k11 example:The Forest of Hands and Teeth + Going Bovine + Mockingjay = The Forest of Mocking Bovines. But remember—you have to use one 2k11 title in the mashup! For a chance to win a prize, just send us your creations at:streetteam@classof2k11.com
What titles can you create? Make us laugh or groan. Surprise us, scare us, or just maybe…give us ideas for a new story.
January featured titles for Mashup Mania:
The Mephisto Covenant by Trinity Faegan
The Year We Were Famous by Carole Estby Dagg
With a Name Like Love by Tess Hilmo
Bad Taste in Boys by Carrie Harris
OyMG by Amy Fellner Dominy
For additional info go here.
COVER RE-CREATION
The Challenge: You’ve seen what professional artists have done with our cover designs. Now, we want to see what you can do! Re-create one of our covers using the computer or design something free-hand. Let your inner artist loose!
For a chance to win a prize, just send us your covers at: streetteam@classof2k11.com
January featured books for Cover Re-Creation:
The Mephisto Covenant by Trinity Faegan
The Year We Were Famous by Carole Estby Dagg
With a Name Like Love by Tess Hilmo

THE PAY-OFF
We’ll post a few favorite entries from all 3 contests on our website, and all entries (from all 3 activities) will be entered in a prize drawing. These drawings will be random, so there’s no need to worry that your artwork will be judged against others. ( But we will be saving our most very favorite entries for a big prize at the end of the year!)
TWO winners will be chosen each month. First prize is a brand new book from the Class of 2k11. Second prize is a 2k11 ARC (Advanced Reader Copy) specially marked up by the author with insights and info that NO ONE ELSE WILL HAVE. This month we will be giving away:
Book: XVI by Julia Karr
ARC: The Year We Were Famous
by Carole Estby Dagg
And if you need a little extra incentive to get people to participate, we’ll send you a little swag pack so that your readers can score a signed bookmark or other goodies for their efforts. Email us at info@classof2k11.com to get one. (While supplies last.)
Thanks for sharing this. I bet some of them would like to be featured on the Graffiti Wall. I’m always into promoting authors. Pass the word, if you want.
Awesome! Thanks so much for sharing the info and the linkage. 🙂
it is wonderful the way you are promoting new authors! it makes all the difference! how is it all going? xop
Love the links thank you! I hadn’t heard of some of these books. The titles sound awesome!
Wow, thanks for the heads up, Caroline. You’re doing a wonderful thing, promoting the Elevensies.
And, man, that Mashup Mania is harder than it looks! I might try the hands photo instead.
I am visiting thanks to the MotherReader Comment Challenge. I can’t believe all the different contests that are out there. Thanks for passing them on. So far I have only seen one other that involves photography. There’s something for everyone.
