Fast Five: Books That Made Me Laugh

I have memories of reading the first two books listed on the university shuttle that took me from the parking lot to campus. Very entertaining early in the morning!

1.  THE PRINCESS BRIDE
2.  A CONFEDERACY OF DUNCES
3.  FUDGE-A-MANIA  (We took a CD recording of this on our Thanksgiving trip to Michigan. It was fun to “read” again, with my own children)
4. THE SACRED DIARY OF ADRIAN PLASS, AGED 37 3/4
5. WHALES ON STILTS!

What are your favorite funny books?

Anything by David Sedaris– Highlarious! Also I found myself laughing quite a bit with the Percy Jackson series.

Kristi, Ramona makes me laugh, too.

Valerie, I need to pick up Sedaris. I’ve heard him on NPR and found him very entertaining.

I’ve only read one of those (The Princess Bride) so I guess I’d better check out the others.

When I want a good laugh book I pick up Janet Evanovich. 🙂

I absolutely love WHALES ON STILTS. Another book that made me guffaw was THE TRUE MEANING OF SMEKDAY. I just read it a few months ago and already I want to reread it because it was just so funny!

Oh, I need to read Whales on Stilts!

I loved HOW NOT TO BE POPULAR by Jenny Ziegler. And Terry Pratchett always gets me to chuckle.

I’m feeling a bit deprived! I love funny books and I haven’t read any of these. I’ll have to get my skates on and get at least one of these books for the Christmas break. Thanks for the list.
