Korea and Kansas: Fun Book News!

Over in the Wetlands is now available in Korean. I love knowing a book about the Louisiana bayou can be read by children on the other side of the world. Sadly, Wetlands went out of print in the US a few years ago. This book’s second chance makes the sale extra rewarding.

The Week Junior magazine has selected fifty books to represent the fifty states. They picked May B. for Kansas. Here’s a link to the magazine’s list of books. There was even a spot on the Today Show. This is such a great resource for teachers, librarians, homeschooling families, or kids who want to read about all the places they’ve been or where they might be headed on summer vacation.

I continue to be amazed that my first book, the one agents and editors didn’t quite know what to do with (a historical verse novel? Who would read or get that?) has gone on to be my most successful. Keep up the good work, May Betterly!
