Besides the one Saturday at Alamosa (it would just be cheating to comment on that wonderfully crowded event), I stood on line in DC one time as a teenager to get a book signed by LtCol Oliver North.
The book I’m most looking forward to getting 4 signatures on is my dissertation.
I’ll let someone else win since I read the ARC. But I saw Maggie Stiefvater this year. It was awesome.
So glad your book signing went so well.
so fantastic, Caroline! Many congratulations to you! May your book and your May B. live long and well.
I was a school librarian for a long time, and I have been to a lot of book signings and hosted quite a few. Perhaps the most memorable was in Washington DC where I stood in an endless line with a one-year-old (mine) waiting to have Maurice Sendak sign a very large, very beautiful book of his illustrations.
Congratulations on what looks like a really terrific event! Yay, May B.!
Our 4 year old daughter (now 14 yrs. old) was obsessed with Jan Brett and could not read or study the books enough. We tracked down the book signing schedule and traveled nearly two hours from home to see this precious lady. The event is still talked about, and was a highlight of Clare’s early childhood.
Congrats on your book launch! How exciting! Thanks for sharing your pics. That cake looked scrumptious.
I would love to attend one of your book signings!
P.S. I love your expressive hands! My mom talks with her hands, and my sister and I find much glee in lovingly teasing her about it.
Oh, that looks so fun!
I loved going to Allie Condie’s launch party/signing for MATCHED. She is super humble and sweet and I really enjoyed learning how her ideas for the book came about.
I came over through Simple Homeschool because your book looks wonderful (!) and also because I just finished my first book and can use all the trail blazing advice I can get!
I remember attending a Pat McManus book signing as a kid. Ever read him? He’s hilarious. 🙂
Congratulations on what looks like a great event — cake, packed house, speaking hands (I hate a hand-held mike!)
The last book signing I attended was in celebration of the fiftieth year anniversary of The Phantom Tollbooth. Norton Juster and Jules Feiffer still friends, creative, warm, and funny after all those years!
I have never been to a book signing before, but you have sparked my interest! I will have to put that on my list of things to try! Your book looks fascinating!
I just wanted to say CONGRATULATIONS on officially being published. My copy of May B arrived yesterday and I can’t wait to re-read it!!!
Glad your launch party was such a success, Caroline! I went to a great launch party for Liz Gallagher’s MY NOT-SO-STILL LIFE. The character in the book has pink hair, so she wore a pink wig and had more available for others to wear. (I have to admit, I declined to put one on.)
I have never been to a book signing, which is pretty sad. My friend did get to go to a book signing by Julie Andrews and I was so very envious of her!
YAY! I love pics of signings. Looks like you had fun. Nothing wrong with hand talk.
And that’s a fantastic cake.
Give the book to someone who doesn’t already have it. But I really enjoyed hosting Richard Peck.
I’ve been to a book signing by MEM FOX. She writes children’s picture books. She spoke for an hour beforehand & it was just brilliant. I’d love to attend more book signings in the future.

I’ve been to Erica Perl’s Chicken Butt at Wellesley Booksmith, Lisa See’s at Brookline Booksmith, and Best Travel Writing for Women at Brookline Booksmith.
I’d love to attend your book signing! Please come to Newton, MA!
I have not been to a book signing since the early 90’s – Shakti Gawain’s Creative Visualization book.
I look forward to taking my budding writers to book signings!
Oh Caroline! How wonderful it is to see this. If’n we ever get to ABQ, NM, I mean it, we should meet up for coffee or a run. Best wishes for the rest of this exciting ride.
Looks like a fantastic time. Congrats! And don’t worry, I not only wave my arms a lot but also roll my eyes all the time. Those little quirks are what make us unique. 🙂
You’re so cute! And what a gorgeous cake!
Caroline-Congratulations and happy book birthday to Mae!!!! I can’t believe after all this waiting I’m late to the party!!! It looks like a wonderful day and I’m so happy for both you and Mae!!! xo
