I’m almost done with Fringe Hours (probably finish today) and I’m partway through Madeline L’Engle’s “A Circle of Quiet”, to be followed by “Garlic and Sapphires” when I pick it up at the library later this week. ๐ The last is a memoir of a famous food critic who always went in disguise to review restaurants, and the funny stories she’s encountered. Sarah, are you the reader who picks up Walking on Water every year? I have a lot more L’Engle reading I need to do. I’ve heard great things about Fringe Hours, and Garlic and Sapphires sounds extra fun!
I am reading “Swamplandia!” by Karen Russell, “The Borrowers” by Mary Norton, “Don Quixote” by Cervantes (this one is taking me more than 2 years!), “To Dare Mighty Things” by Doreen Rappaport and today I cracked open “Edward Lear: The Complete Verse and Nonsense” (2001 edition). I like to read a lot of books at once. I love L’Engle’s “A Circle of Quiet” – such wisdom.
I literally have several dozens of books still waiting for me from the past couple of years (I keep judging contests or reading friend’s new releases or blurbing which puts me behind) but I adored The Secret Life of Bees! Don’t wait too long! ๐

I do, too. Love, love, love The Borrowers so much! Perhaps I’ll open my copy of Don Quixote someday…

And I have your Fireflies to get to! xo
