It is a cliché to suggest the “Devil is in the details.” But those simple details are precisely that which elevates writing: an ability to provide the reader with a sense of the real. And—to make it more complicated, while there is the needful skill of knowing what to put in, there is an equal skill in knowing what to leave out.

Nice quote, Caroline. It’s something I’ve been thinking a lot about with my current book. Putting in those little details that “ground” the story into it’s specific location , whether it’s the outside world or the inside world of the MC’s house, job, so that readers can “see” it all more clearly as if they’re there inside the “book’s movie”.
Love your gorgeous purple flowers picture, too! I’m a sucker for anything purple. I hope you had a beautiful and blessed Christmas!! Happy New Year! XO
They’re allium, which is related to onions, garlic, shallots, leeks, etc. Pretty cool!
