We want to be great — immediately great — but that’s not how creativity works. It is an awkward, tentative, even embarrassing process. I remember reading this myself (I have really enjoyed Julia Cameron’s books) a year or two ago…such good advice.
I’m finally reading The Artist’s way myself. There’s a lot to think about there, even if you don’t consider yourself “blocked.”
So true, especially the embarrassing, awkward part. Someday I need to read this book! (Right now, I’m immersed in verse novels.)
