One of my favorite faculty members is a poet who keep (and makes his students keep) what he calls a scroll. It is a single word document that he opens every day and adds to – poems or thoughts or prose, unedited. Just casual writing, a continual long document of flowing words. When he’s stuck writing, he can go back to that and cull ideas and lines and words. I’ve seen a few of the students’ and they are an amazing treasure!
I’m trying to write at least a few sentences daily, something that should be very manageable…but there are some days I skip. Oh, well….
I don’t write everyday, but I love the idea of all those small efforts adding up to one single notation.
I have never encountered another writer who quotes Canetti! Love it.

How interesting, Heidi!
Oh I love that!
