On Writing

No matter what happens, no matter how many times you get rejected, no matter how many people tell you it’s not worth the time, no matter how many drafts you have to shelve or burn or tear to shreds, you’ll always have two inviolable things. You’ll have the work, and you’ll have your particular way of interacting with the work.

If you’re depressed or burnt out or if you need to take a break, you can. When you return, you’ll have the work, and you’ll have the world, exactly the way you see it. I want to see it the way you see it.

So true, Caroline! Each of us sees the world in his/her/their own way. So each of us has a unique story to tell.
