If I were Elizabeth Wein, I might have been tempted to stop writing after the brilliant Code Name Verity. It’s the sort of book that feels like a pinnacle in writing. A lifetime achievement. Thankfully, Wein didn’t do as I might. She’s produced the equally compelling, just as powerful companion novel, Rose Under Fire.
This story will challenge what you think you know about World War II prison camps. It is filled with the same strong heroism, binding friendships, and powerful female leads.
Tell the world. As a member of the human race, this is a must-read book.
