Elana Johnson…are you on board??
Remember, you must read five verse novels by the end of the year and create a post about participating which links back to my original post.
One participant will win an ARC of my novel-in-verse, MAY B.
The contest is still open! Anyone can participate.
Readers, how are you doing?
Any new participants want to join?
I need to make a post, but I’ve read 2 so far this year!
I’ve read several this year…Is it okay to join and count those titles that I’ve already enjoyed?

Nothing yet… but… don’t worry. I’m planning a huge novel-in-verse extravaganza in December wherein I will be drowning in poetry. 🙂
Three down so far. I need to figure out two others to read. So far I’ve read two Lisa Schroeder novels and then Out of the Dust by Karen Hesse. I’m thinking an Ellen Hopkins (because I gave one away for a contest but wouldn’t myself read it because I wanted it to arrive at the winner’s house in mint condition). Any other suggestions, Caroline? I know you’ve posted some on your blog in the past….
Amy
Rebecca and Mrs. DeRaps, I look forward to hearing about the books you’ve read. Posting later is fine (just provide the link).
Valerie, I can’t wait for December!
Amy, I don’t know if these titles will interest you, but I’m planning on reading to biography verse novels: CARVER: A LIFE IN POEMS (about my hero, George Washington Carver) and YOUR OWN, SYLVIA: A VERSE PORTRAIT OF SYLVIA PLATH.
HUGGING THE ROCK is great (though I’m partial; it’s from Tricycle Press). I also enjoyed Sharon Creech’s HEARTBEAT and LOVE THAT DOG.
This is something I don’t have the first clue how to write, but I love to read it! Go, NIV writers!

I’ve read four: Home of the Brave, Heartbeat, Walk Two Moons, and I Heart You, You Haunt Me. Any suggestions for my fifth?
Oops! Make that three. I forgot that Walk Two Moons isn’t verse just because it’s by Sharon Creech!
I’m only 2+ months late responding to this. Uh…I haven’t read one yet! #loser #lame
I will try to get at least ONE read.
