Why We Read

Love the quote and the picture! I’ve often thought if everyone in the world read then we’d all understand each other a little more. It’s hard to be prejudice against others if you’ve read a mile in their shoes. 😉

What I find interesting is the way we can read the same thing and have different responses. Who we are informs how we read, and I think that’s magic.

It’s strange, because when I read, it’s more of a way to let my brain take a breath and stop thinking. Instead I let the story take over my mind.

I often think of my mind as an information highway that is in a traffic jam lol.

Voidwalker, there’s that phenomenon, too. So interesting how it all unfolds.

Great quote. I also see reading as a way to grow my compassion for others. You walk a mile in the characters’ shoes.

Marica, yes! I just read WONDER yesterday and am posting about it next week. It’s this ability to feel compassion — and see the similarities we share with others, despite our differences — that is key.
