Why We Read

I took the sandwich and GREAT EXPECTATIONS and sank into my bed with the utmost feeling of luxuriousness. Ahh. Bed, book, kitten, sandwich. All one needed in life, really.

Such a great quote… though I’d have to switch out chocolate for sandwich. πŸ˜‰

I love everything but the Great Expectations part – that’s way too serious for bed reading. I’d prefer something lighter! πŸ™‚

    Oh, I love this! πŸ™‚

Also, I can’t seem to escape Great Expectations! For the last two months, I’ve seen references to it EVERYWHERE. Is this a sign that I’m supposed to read it? (I, er, saw the movie.)

Stephanie: Absolutely meant to read it. Everyone should spend some time with Miss Havisham.

I used to want to grow up to BE ms Havisham.

    Is that so wrong?

Every once and a while my husband will come home at lunch and find me in bed reading. I feel very spoiled when he catches me doing that.

I must agree with Valerie. Sandwich should be swapped with chocolate, and then I’m SO good to go. πŸ™‚

Sweet moment last night: my first grader told me, “This is the life (very funny to hear in his little voice). A pillow, a blanket, a story to listen to, and a Mama to hug.”

Aww, that SO SWEET, Caroline! I have a first-grader (girl), too. Don’t they say the cutest things! Wish they could stay that age . . . they grow up so fast.

And yes, you & your little one are so RIGHT! That is the life: a comfy bed, a book, and one’s favorite snack . . . ahhhh! πŸ™‚

And guess what? I checked out a stack of books from the library last week and The EVOLUTION OF CALPURNIA TATE was one of them! Since you posted that quote, I’m REALLY eager to get to it now!
