Working on Edits for BLUE BIRDS

I have one of these

and have spent a lot of time double checking these
and this
to make it halfway through this.
I’m going to be laying low the next few weeks as I finish up. Posts will (most likely!) continue to regularly run, but if not, you now know why :).
What are you working on?

That is so exciting to see, even as I can imagine how daunting it is for you! I can’t wait to see the beautiful book you bring out of all this hard work!

Thank you so much, Faith. I hope it is beautiful in the end. Right now it’s very much a work in progress. I am humbled by the amount of work an editor does behind the scenes, all to make someone else’s work shine. It’s a true labor of love.

Beth, you are so dear. If you could only see what I have now — a story dangling by a thread! I have to trust it will all come together as I work day by day.

Thankfully I get to do this more than once. I think just having one shot would terrify me.

Thrilling, Caroline!!! But man, I want to finish all those gushing sentences you teased us with from your editor in that photo! 🙂 Hope the work is going well. I just got home today (4 days late from Utah) and have basically lost almost two weeks of work time. So much to do, but Jared is here with us for a week now, too, and that’s always fun. xoxo

It is a lovely letter…and one that’s got me working hard. I’m so grateful someone else can help me clean up my messes and is interested enough to invest so much time in this book.

Welcome home! And congratulations to your graduate. I know the time away was good for you. Miss you!
      xo
